Fantasy Hockey POTN (5/20)

WRITTEN BY CHRIS WASSEL | 20 MAY 2011

Tonight’s choice was easy for a change because low scoring games make our lives easier here at Fantasy POTN.  In a very quick decision, we decided to take Tim Thomas as our winner.  Simply playoff shutouts are hard to come by it seems of late and Thomas was in command tonight unlike in Games 1 and 2.

Thomas made 31 saves in all including 15 in the third period.  Yes Tampa did not have many glorious chances which can be attributed to a much better defensive game played by the Bruins which included the return of Patrice Bergeron (who went 18-28 on faceoffs).  Now when Tampa did get close, Thomas was able to snuff it out.

We decided to pull out some evidence from last night’s action and here it goes….

That is stuffed robbery on Steve Downie.  Simply Tim Thomas was the man last night and it was why we said to take the under as both goalies were pretty well on their game.  Expect more of the same in Game 4 but tonight Thomas is our Fantasy POTN with the shutout.
