R.A. Dickey (1-5, 5.08 ERA) vs. Freddy Garcia (2-3, 3.22 ERA)

In his career against the Yankees Dickey is 2-1 with a 2.66 ERA.  However he has not started against the Yankees since 2004.  He pitched very poorly in his last start against the Houston Astros where he gave up six hits and four runs in the first inning.  He made it to 5 1/3 innings, but gave up two home runs before he was taken out.  Garcia made two appearances lifetime against the Mets.  He has a record of 1-1 against them and a 2.63 ERA.  Garcia tied a season high where he gave up four runs in his last start against the Boston Red Sox.  Garcia is 21-8 with a 2.92 ERA lifetime in interleague play.

Chris Capuano (3-4, 4.78 ERA) vs. A.J. Burnett (4-3, 3.99 ERA)

Capuano has one start lifetime against the Yankees in 2005 as a Brewer and it was not a good one.  He took the loss after he gave up eight hits and seven runs (five earned) in four innings which adds up to an 11.25 ERA against the Yankees.  He hasn’t been pitching deep into games this season, but in each of Capuano’s last three starts he gave up only three runs.  Burnett is 4-6 lifetime against the Mets with a 3.36 ERA in 18 starts.  In his last start the Yankees offense gave Burnett a four run lead, but he managed to give up five runs to the Tampa Bay Rays to lose that lead.  The Yankees lost 6-5 that game.

Mike Pelfrey (3-3, 5.11 ERA) vs. Ivan Nova (4-3, 4.33 ERA)

In four lifetime starts against the Yankees Pelfrey is 2-2 with a 4.70 ERA.  In his last start against the Florida Marlins on Monday Pelfrey held them to one run in a no-decision.  Last year he lost at Yankee Stadium.  This is Nova’s very first interleague start.  In his last start Nova held the Rays to one run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings, which was a big improvement from his previous start when he gave up 10 hits in three innings.
