There are times when you just look at a streak killer and almost have to admire it. There is a certain brute efficiency in watching it occur. Today’s moment happened 19 years ago and there was no Chelsea Dagger back then. Oh wait, there was no need for it to be played anyway. Below as always is a little video and then what transpired.

Mario Lemieux scored twice to lead the Penguins to a 5-4 win over Chicago, in Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals, at the Civic Arena. The win ended the Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup playoff record of 11 straight victories in one year.
