Playoff “This Day” (5/27)

Today we took a look at the year 1975.  This moment happed 36 years ago today and it my be a good while longer before this team ever wins Lord Stanley’s Cup again.  Okay let’s get on with this.

May 27, 1975


Bernie Parent shut out Buffalo 2-0 (his 6th and final career playoff shutout) in Game 6 of the Finals, as the Flyers won their second straight Stanley Cup Championship. Parent became the first back-to-back winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy
