Widely reported by now, there was no suspension handed down for Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows after a blatant — or not-so blatant — bite of Boston Bruins Patrice Bergeron’s finger last night in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

At the end of the first period — tied 0-0 — at Rogers Arena last night, things got heated between Burrows and Bergeron after the sound of the horn. Some pushing, shoving, and pie-facing ensued, followed by Burrows sinking his teeth into the B’s center.

Mike Murphy, the NHL’s Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations, issued the following statement earlier this afternoon:

VANCOUVER (June 2, 2011) – “After reviewing the incident, including speaking with the on-ice officials, I can find no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows
intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron.”

Above is the picture, below is the poll. Cast your vote…vent and speak in the comments below:

  •  Yes, that did merit a suspension
  •  No, good non-call
