Fantasy Hockey POTN (6/9)

WRITTEN BY CHRIS WASSEL | 08 JUNE 2011

This has been so much fun to watch the last two games.  It is not the twelve goals that Boston scored but it was more the 78 saves that Tim Thomas made in Game 3 and 4 combined.  The choice for Fantasy POTN was really that obvious.  Sure Rich Peverley would have been a pretty good option but Thomas was just a cut above on this night.

How often can you say a goalie actually got under the skin of an entire opposing team with physicality and great goaltending?  Here is how.

Yes it is clear that Tim Thomas was just that good.  All the missed plays in Vancouver seemed to not go in when it came to old Beantown.  Sometimes luck is the residue of design and Thomas plays that well.  When you only give up five goals in four games, you are doing something right. The same cannot be said for his counterpart, Roberto Luongo.

However this is all about the Thomas who was doubted after Game 2.  All that has changed now. The truth worth will be proven if the goalie can find a way to steal one in Vancouver because he is going to have to do that in order for Boston to win theStanley Cup.  But at least for the last two games, Thomas accomplished a rare double in taking the Fantasy POTN back to back.
