NHL GAME REVIEW: Devils FabuELIAS over Panthers 5-2
Coming off of Wednesday night’s 6-1 drubbing by the Boston Bruins at the Prudential Center, the Devils entered the game with a 2 game losing streak and on the outside looking in at the playoffs 1 point out of 8th place and after Friday nights 5-2 over the Florida Panthers, the win now places the Devils in 7th place in the Eastern Conference. Patrik Elias came into the game with 999 career games payed in the NHL, all with New Jersey, and led a spirited Devils offensive attack with 3 points including a Goal 36 seconds into the 2nd Period.
The Panthers who were playing the back-end of Penn Station to Penn Station portion of the road trip welcomed former New Jersey Devil John Madden to the lineup, after signing him yesterday to add more veteran leadership to a team that is in a surprising lead in the Southeast Division. Florida who twice pulled even in the game showed the physical wear and tear of the back to back games in the 3rd period when the Devils scored 3 unanswered goals to help them to the win.
