Through My Eyes Book Review

One of the more, if not the most compelling figures in sports is Tim Tebow. People have debated him left and right and some still question whether his faith is legitimate or not. I have been a Tebow supporter ever since his days as a college quarterback at the University of Florida. Through My Eyes is written by the man himself as a memoir.  It is a book that chronicles Tebow’s life from his miraculous birth to his rookie season with the Denver Broncos. If you question Tebow’s faith at all, you will change your mind on the man once you read this book.

Most people said that he could not make it at any level. Whether it is the “position by body stereotype” or where he got his throwing motion from, you will learn things about Tim that will make you want to root for him even more. As a Christian, reading this book has also helped to encourage me on my walk with the Lord.

Every chapter starts off with a bible verse and Tebow relates the verse to each point in his life. You get to go inside the championship years at Florida and his religious conversations with Urban Meyer and Dan Mullen. This is not only just a football book, but a book that can help you in times of questioning your faith because yes, in this book, Tim addresses the central point that God does not determine who wins and who loses football games.

Even if you are not a Denver Broncos fan, check out this book and get an inside look into the life of a man who plays football and lives life to the glory of God. You wonder sometimes how Tebow can get through all the criticism he receives from media elite, his own peers, and the football viewing public. If you read this book, you will see where he gets that strength and how we all need that strength at some point or another. This is a must read for both a football fan and a Christian looking for strength and encouragement along their walk with the Lord!
